Resource Corner from the Race & Equity Committee
"Speak Up at School: How to Respond to Everyday Prejudice, Bias and Stereotypes"
A guide book for educators and BVI support staff for addressing racism occurring in the learning environment and using instances of racial injustices as an opportunity to teach and grow. This includes grade appropriate language for educator-to-student intervention. There is also a “pocket guide” offered for itinerant educators to have available for reference while in the community. It’s a great resource for empowering teachers to feel comfortable talking about race and addressing oppression as it occurs.
